Kaleb (Alluring Indulgence #1), by Nicole Edwards

17181891____________________________________________

Zoey Stranford might’ve had a crush on the sexy boy next door since middle school, but she’s a woman now, and that crush has turned into a full blown case of lust. So why is it that at twenty nine, her libido decides to ramp into high gear and the only thing she can focus on is the intensely sexy, scorching hot boy next door who is definitely not a boy anymore?

The only problem is that Zoey and Kaleb have been best friends for as long as she can remember. Not to mention, Kaleb and his brothers are working on buying Stranford land to build a new resort, and she’s more than a little hesitant about his intentions.

Kaleb Walker has had his eye on Zoey for close to twenty years, but never before has he considered taking their friendship to the next level, no matter how many fantasies he’s had about her over the years. That doesn’t explain why Kaleb is hell bent on having her – in as many ways as possible.

Kaleb finds himself in a precarious situation. His brothers have nominated him to pursue Zoey’s father about purchasing the land needed to get their new resort off the ground. Finding out that Carl Stranford is on the brink of foreclosure and Zoey might just lose her house and the land, Kaleb now has to convince her to put aside her pride and let him help her.

It doesn’t take long before the flames start burning bright and hot, and the two of them burn up the nights and the days as they explore each other’s forbidden fantasies. But can their friendship survive a business transaction or the new friends with benefits clause? Or will they realize that they’ve been overlooking something much deeper that’s been right in front of them all along?

Warning: This book contains sexual encounters and graphic language that some readers may find objectionable, including, but not limited to m/f/m encounters, anal sex, exhibitionism, and voyeurism. Consider yourself warned! Contains graphic material that is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.

I’ve been in the mood for smut lately which is why I picked Kaleb. From the reviews I read before giving it a chance (good and bad), the sex was mighty hot. And boy, was it ever!

I remember reading descriptions such as sizzling hot, pussy-clenching, or to prepare a stack of dry panties nearby when reading. And yes, this book is exactly that.

The man had somehow figured out how to rock her world in every way imaginable, all the while, Zoey knew she was falling way too fast for this man.
Way too fast.

I really enjoyed the smut but I also liked the characters. I always had a weakness for friends drifting to lovers, so I was happy with the book. I just thought that Kaleb and Zoey could’ve skipped the “friends-with-benefit” phase of the book that, to me didn’t make that much sense, since they were basically already into a relationship (friendship), added to it some exclusive sex (they are both single and not involved with anyone), and obviously crazy about each other.

Zoey and Kaleb were both very likable characters. Actually, Kaleb was more likable than Zoey who had her moment. She might piss you off a bit. She did me. But then she pissed Kaleb off too so it’s okay I guess because he handle it like any proper smutty alpha hero would (I’m thinking spanking girls 😉 Other than that, they never bored me or annoyed me except for the “we’re not in a relationship crap” they had going on. The balanced each other quite well so even though Zoey can be a bit pissy, Kaleb makes things better. Speaking of, Kaleb was quite perfect actually. He’s your typical Texan hunk. He has specific taste in the sack (light BDSM, threesomes, etc…) but then it seems that all the brothers do too, as well as Kaleb’s friends. Look out for Cage. He’s quite yummy too. Just sayin’.

Concerning the plot, it’s pretty much what you see is what you get. Two friends finally realizing that only friends doesn’t cut it anymore but are still worried about screwing their long-timed friendship.

“I’ve always loved you, baby, Since the first day I laid eyes on you, I knew I had to have you. I settled on friends because I wouldn’t done just about anything to keep you in my life. But, Zoey, I do love you. And I want more from you than just friendship.”

But don’t expect much drama. There is almost none. Which, in my opinion is not necessarily a bad thing. At all.

So I enjoyed this book. Very much so. Although, I think some readers might find it a little flat. But it is a relatively short book, the univers of it is really nice (small town, nice community, reliable people, the big Walker family with its seven, hotter than the last brothers 😉 ), the characters are really likable and it’s the kind of book that makes you smile sometimes at how sweet the characters are, laugh and squirm. Let’s not forget that. 😉
