“I really need to get laid,”
Okay, so this book is not the kind that you’ll remember of for years to come, but it is a nice read that will give you a good time and finish with a smile on your lips.
What I really liked about this book is the fact that the story takes place in the universe of hockey. I usually really enjoy books where sport is mixed with romance, but there is a special place in my heart for hockey players and hockey themed books. What can I say, they do it for me. And Elle Kennedy’s hockey players are just to hot and sweet to resist.
“Stop looking at me like that.”
“Like what?” he said, blinking innocently.
“Like you’re imagining me naked.”
“I can’t help it. I am imagining you naked.”
Brody is a character that you’ll like and want to get to know really fast. He’s the kind of alpha male that I really enjoy in this kind of books, but he also have depth and kindness to himself. I really enjoyed reading his point of view, even though sometimes it was a little repetitive.
“When I’m with him all I can think about is ripping off his clothes, and when I’m not with him all I can think about is ripping off his clothes.”
Hayden is likable and has her funny moments but she might get on some readers’ nerves. She was a very independent woman and the fact that the roles were reversed and that it was Brody who went after Hayden was a nice change. I liked seeing him go after her and try and seduce her, and her worked really hard to get her to open up at first and to convince her to go on dates and later on, to fall in love (or admit it anyway) with him.
But one thing I enjoyed was Elle Kennedy’s special kind of hot scenes. This woman is gifted when it comes to writing sizzling, steamy sex scenes. She just knows how to do it and the chemistry she created between Brody and Hayden was crazy
So to conclude, I liked this book. It is not a book that will stay with me for years to come but it was a nice read that I really enjoyed.
