There’s only one thing in life Lucien Knight really hates, and that’s husbands who cheat on their wives.
There’s only one problem in Sophie Black’s life. Her cheating husband…
From the moment Lucien & Sophie meet, the seal is set.
Romantic, emotional & intensely erotic, Knight and Play is the perfect read for lovers of international bestsellers Fifty Shades & Bared To You. Let yourself be swept away by Part One of the Knight series from Kitty French, a romance so hot it’ll burn your fingers…
CEO of Knight Inc. Lucien Knight is catch-your-breath gorgeous and damaged by his troubled past in Norway. All grown up and relocated to London, he’s built his empire of adult clubs from the ground up to become the gorgeous patron saint of the sex industry. No one knows the dark childhood secrets that have given Lucien a backbone of steel and a heart encased in ice. No one until Sophie Black, that is…
From the moment girl-next-door Sophie accepts the job as Lucien Knight’s PA, she understands how Alice must have felt when she tumbled down the rabbit hole. Lucien takes her safe, vanilla life away and plunges her head first into a huge dish of fantasy flavours. Rich, spicy chocolate covered with dark, oozingly lickable sauce? Check. Tutti-frutti with indecently red, glistening cherries on the top? Yes please.
Lucien strips away all of Sophie’s inhibitions, and when he instructs her to select three new toys, she soon realises he has more than a game of Monopoly on his mind…
He’s opened the door to a whole new pleasure packed world without limits, and Sophie is utterly intoxicated. But how far is she willing to go? And what happens when she has to step back into reality again?
Lucien & Sophie’s is a story of star crossed love and forbidden passion, a sexual odyssey that spans the globe and changes both of their lives forever. Let it change yours, too.
First thing first: HOLY FREAKING SMUT!!!!!!!
“You have no idea how many ways I’m going to make you come.”
You must know if you’re going to read this book that there’ll be tones and tones of sex. Really hot, toe-curling, fan-yourself filthy hot sex. But, and that’s the nice thing about this book, it’s that there is not only raw fucking involved. There is that, of course but there is also a good dose of sweet, sensual sex in it.
I really liked Lucien’s character. He’s a damaged, hot billionaire who is really up front about his intentions towards Sophie from the get go.
“My husband is having an affair, Lucien … And here’s the thing. Right at the moment, he’s God knows where with God knows who until next weekend, and I don’t think I even care.” …
“He’s a fucking fool”
Sophie shrugged and looked out of the window. “Maybe. He’s avoided having sex with me for more than six months now.”
“I’ll say it again. He’s a fucking fool.”
“Would it help if we fucked?”
There is no declaration of undying love between Lucien and Sophie at the end of this book, but you know that oddly, they are deeply connected to each other, and care for each other. That something is burgeoning between them.
“I know enough. I know you’ve felt more alive in the last couple of days than you have for a long time. You were on pilot light when you came to me. Now….” he shrugged. “Now, you’re blazing.”
Which leads me to the FREAKING CLIFFHANGER at the end. That, Kitty French, was cruel.
Sophie has an unfaithful husband who left for ten days on a “business trip” and finds out about his two years long affair right when she starts working for Lucien. So you know that by the end of the book, she’s going to face her cheating husband about his affair.
But the ending will not give you the satisfaction to see that happen. Oh no! Instead, K. French leaves us confused about how things will play out at the very last page and well, definitely hanging for more.
Lucien was an unusual character in a way. He clearly doesn’t want a serious relationship. As a matter of fact, the only things he offers Sophie is a week long affair, but during their time together, he succeeds in making her feel more “loved” than her husband has in two years. Lucien’s character was very touching and yet very guarded, which makes you want to know him even more when you glimpse some of his vulnerability.
“Lucien reminded her how it felt to be adored, and how much she’d missed it.”
I really enjoyed Knight & Play. It’s a short , hot and smutty read that makes you think on relationships and faithfulness, but stays light enough on the subject, and will leave you wanting for more Viking god action!
“You deserve to be adored, and you deserve to be fucked until you can’t stand up.”
“He sighed and shook his head. “I figured I could screw you happy, I guess.”
